Fret not Mercedes-AMG GT fans, the 2015 C 63 AMG hasn’t stolen the sportscar’s show yet. Sure, the sedan may have been launched even more recently, but we are here to bring the GT back into focus. The German engineers are still out there testing the sportscar in Edition 1 guise, as shown by the adjacent spyshots.
As most of you know, Mercedes-Benz now launches every new model via the Edition 1 path, which are only offered during the first year of production. Interestingly enough, the GT Edition 1 was not revealed when the automaker introduced the GT and the GT S models on September 9.
We’ll start with the cabin on this occasion, as the “AMG Edition 1” badge on the steering wheel clearly shows we’re dealing with this model. We are talking about the AMG Performance steering wheel here, which is accompanied by AMG Performance seats. Moreover, the red details of the dashboard instruments have been replaced with yellow ones.
The exterior parts of the test vehicle are still camouflaged, but it’s not difficult to spot the differences. Thus, the version will offer slightly tweaked front and rear fascias, as well as more sculpted side skirts.
The AMG-GT edition, for those who are in a hurry to buy the car, could show up at next week’s Paris Motor Show.
Update: Two official images of the Mercedes-AMG GT Edition 1 have shown up.

What’s with the wing?
At the rear of the GT, we find a fixed rear wing - this is a reason for which we wouldn’t be happy with buying an Edition 1 vehicle. For instance, the same scheme is seen on the A 45 AMG and while the presence of the wing on the hot hatch is a matter of taste, we can’t see why it had to replaced the adaptive rear spoiler that normally adorns the rear of the sportscar. The AMG-GT edition, for those who are in a hurry to buy the car, could show up at next week’s Paris Motor Show.
