During the early part of the Second World War, the Germans were sweeping through the Russian countryside at blistering speed because of the superiority of both their tactics and their tanks.
But the Russians quickly discovered how to mass produce big, strong tanks with rugged and simple suspension that even a farm boy could operate. The T-34 was the vehicle that won them the war.

Much of the same philosophy can be seen in this interesting off-roader. It’s called the Medved, Russian for bear. Its simple body is built in two separate pieces, the metal lower part that acts like a boat and keeps the water out and the fiberglass upper part built for lightness. It’s simple and rugged, powered by the old Lada VAZ-2107 engine.

Needless to say, this bear will be doing a lot of killing in the woods and swamps.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
