McLaren Automotive has revealed the very first photos of the P1 concept, which will be shown at the Paris Motor Show, previewing the hypercar that we’ll all know as the new McLaren F1.
The production version of this very machine will go on sale within the next 12 months, McLaren says, and will become "best driver's car in the world."

The carmaker did not release any technical details about the car, but Managing Director Antony Sheriff said their aim “is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit. It is the true test of a supercar's all round ability and a much more important technical statement."

That’s a tall order, but the car will most likely be a technological showcase as well, powered by a combination of tuned 3.8-liter V8 engine and F1-style Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) for a combined maximum output somewhere north of 900 hp.

From the looks of things, the P1 is like the MP4-12C of the future, with more ducts and ground effects ensuring the car sticks, stays cool and looks bedroom-poster-worty.

autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
