The Asia Pacific region is key for McLaren’s expansion plans. And there’s probably no better market there for the British supercar than Hong Kong.
For the debut of the new 12C Spider, they needed a perfect venue to impress potential clients. The problem was this required a pair of supercar being lifted into the air using a crane and placed on the roof of a tall building.
As far as convertible supercars go, this is probably the best looking of them all. Unlike the Ferrari 458 Spyder, this has a complex roof mechanism that opens in stages, while the engine bay has a clear cover over it.
It’s also impressively powerful, with a 625 PS 3.8-liter V8 in the middle of the car, pushing all of its subtle aluminum and carbon fiber to speeds that should be illegal on the streets of Hong Kong.
Car launch? This is a bit more like a car lift!
