British sportscar manufacturer McLaren Automotive has confirmed that production of the P1 hybrid supercar is well underway by releasing a batch of photos taken inside their Woking, Surrey assembly plant. The company didn't say when the first McLaren P1s will be shipped to their new customers, but deliveries are expected to commence shortly.
Only 375 examples of the McLaren P1 will be built, and the company says they are almost sold out. The supercar boasts a combined output of 916 PS coming from a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor. Top speed is rated at 350 km/h (217 mph), while the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint can be achieved in less than three seconds. UK starting price was set at £866,000 ($1,392,440 / €1,026,045).
In related news, McLaren is also offering a track-prepped version of the 12C called GT Sprint. The new sportscar was shown during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed and can be ordered starting from £195,000.
