One the things that makes the McLaren 675 LongTail even more fascinating than the image delivered by its specs is the mystery revolving around its lap times on some of the world's most feared tracks - as this stopwatch veil begins to be lifted, the LT's aura increases exponentially.
The latest examples of this comes from the Sachsenring, with the crew over at Auto Bild having recently stretched the twin-turbo legs of the Woking supercar on the track.

The result is an uber-cool 1:30:52 and to put this into context, we'll mention the time means the British contraption is ahead of the Dodge Viper ACR, which holds numerous records around the world and the Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce - you know, the sub-7m Aventador that proved Lamborghinis aren't just about the show.

Let's talk about the badass German circuit a little bit

We'll remind you the German racing venue used for this stunt has a respectable average speed of 82 mph (131 km/h), while we're dealing with a modest 2.3-mile (3.7 km) length. Its current production car lap record is held by the same car that tops the Nurburgring's hall of production fame, namely the Porsche 918 Spyder.

Truth be told, the 675LT is one of those machines that blurs our the line between supercars and hypercars, as you'll notice in the piece of footage below.

And if you're watching this and wondering how fast McLaren's next creation will be, you'll probably have some waiting to do before the MSO HS and its 688 metric horses show up at a track.

P.S.: Those looking for track sessions involving the 675 Longtail and another track special should check out this Nurburgring episode, which shows the LT hanging out with a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the PDK generation. While the two aren't driven flat out, their adventure is still enough to keep an ehtusiasts on his toes.
