There are certain parts of the world where McLaren’s new 650S hasn’t had its first customer deliveries yet. Well, we can be pretty certain Singapore isn’t one of them - not only did we know that deliveries there debuted back in April, but this is also the pace where the British supercar has had its first crash.
The accident took place recently and this was no light affair, as the 650S was both shaken and stirred during the unfortunate event. The details are scarce for the moment but, as it turns out, the Mac got trashed on a stretch of highway.
The accident took place during the night, with ferrarilamborghininews reporting the 650S was performing a customer test drive. Since McLaren always sends out open-top models to events, in order to show these are just as good as its coupes, this is a 650S Spider. As you can see from the adjacent images, there’s quite a lot of damage here.
The front end casualties include the bumper, hood and left headlight. Moreover, the McLaren is damaged on both sides, albeit with the driver’s one appearing more affected. The problems go all the way to the rear of the 650S, where the apron has fallen off.
The only apparent good part is that the crash doesn’t seem to have affected the McLaren’s carbon tub, so while the reapair will no doubt be a costy operation, this supercar could return to the road soon.
