May The Best Young Driver Win ... a Peugeot 107!

The third edition of the Coventry and Warwickshire Young Driver of the Year Competition, sponsored by Peugeot, will give you once again the chance to win a brand new Peugeot 107.

Young drivers have until September 21 to enter the competition. The drivers must be aged in between 17-21 and can enter the competition by completing and returning an entry form available here. Only 50 drivers will be selected to attend a driving day on October 4 and have their skills tested, from parking to controlling a car on the skid pan.

In the same day, a drive on public roads assessed by the Institute of Advanced Motorists and a driving theory test will be included as well. After this first stage of the competition, only 12 drivers will be selected for the final phase of the challenge, on October 18. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on October 22, 2009.

In the two phases of the competition, the wannabe best drivers will have to demonstrate a responsible attitude, their driving abilities and their willingness of improving their behavior behind the wheel.

Peugeot’s Managing Director Pierre Louis Colin said: “Peugeot has strong appeal with the young-at-heart, by being stylish, affordable, compact and with low operating costs, and if this initiative prevents one accident or serious injury it will be worth the investment we place in this young driver competition.”

“I was so pleased I entered the competition. I won a fabulous brand new Peugeot car, had a lot of fun on the driving days and got some really useful advice and feedback on my driving – there’s always something to learn,” the 2007 winner added.

The new Peugeot 107 up for grabs brings enhanced safety, with 4 EuroNCAP stars in the adult protection test and 3 stars in the child protection test. Safety feature highlights include ABS, front and side airbags and front seats with integral head restraints.
