Maserati Quattroporte Test Mule Caught on Video

In just a couple of years, Maserati’s lineup will sprout a bunch of new models - a smaller sedan, a successor to the Quattroporte luxury barge and the controversial SUV. Now, car spotting has been taken to the next level, with Youtube user Marchettino having posted this video of the ext-generation Maserati Quattroporte undergoing testing.

The car might be testing a brand new 4.7-liter V8 engine rated at about 480 horsepower. Maserati has promised us that it will use its own engines and transmission for the SUV as well. This is only a test mule for the upcoming vehicle, and its modified bumpers, exhaust pipes and hood give us plenty of hints.

Some rumors suggest it might get a turbocharged version of Chrysler’s Pentastar, while others say it will have hybrid powetrains borrowed from Ferrari.
