Marquez Severs Business Relaltionships with Rossi and His Close Ones

Marc Marquez is making efforts to sever all ties that link him in any way to Valentino Rossi. In the process, Marquez might have to pay some severance damages for cutting short contracts he has with VR46 Racing Apparel.

We knew that the Sepang 2015 incident between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez would echo long into the 2016 MotoGP World Championship. Aside from the incident itself and its consequences, it's the lack of transparency from Dorna and the FIM in solving the matter that keeps things aflame even though they say the choice they made was for the greater good and for defusing the situation.

In a recent statement, the FIM President Vito Ippolito said that, in accord with Repsol Honda, the racing body ruled against allowing the Japanese maker to reveal telemetry data Marquez's machine recorded at Sepang.

While the FIM says the decision was made to prevent "throwing more fuel on the fire," this is a textbook definition of a dilemma. If the FIM refuses to delve deeper into the matter and show whatever evidence they can, Rossi, his team and fans will believe that those governing MotoGP have something to hide and loathe them (especially the fans).

On the other hand, revealing all the data has good chances of NOT solving the issue, as both parties would most likely interpret it the way they feel suits their goals, especially in the absence of irrefutable proof to tell truth from lies.Marc Marquez no longer wants Rossi to manufacture his official apparel, but...
MM93 apparel was manufactured by Rossi's VR64 Racing Apparel, but Marquez no longer wants to have anything to do with the Doctor, and he is looking for a new partner.

The most likely company he might choose is GP Racing Apparel, which works for Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, Andrea Iannone, Nicky Hayden, Alex Rins, and which also used to manufacture Marco Simoncelli's apparel.

Still, gp-inside says that Marquez has a three-year contract with VR64 Racing Apparel, which is set to expire at the end of this year. If MM93 wants to end it earlier, severance claims will most likely be made by Rossi's company, and we can expect that VR46's lawyers have been instructed already, with Slayer's Show No Mercy track as a background during the briefing.Marquez also cuts relationships with the Nieto family
The two-time MotoGP World Champion is also making moves against those he perceives as being too close to Valentino Rossi. According to the same sources, the list includes Carlo Pernat, Vale's half-brother Luca Marini, and members of the Nieto family.

Racing legend Angel Nieto sided with Rossi and declared this openly during a recent TV show, causing Marquez's distancing. Even more, Pablo Nieto is the team manager for Rossi's Moto3 Team Sky VR46 outfit.

As for the final consequence of the MM93-VR46 dispute, it looks like Marquez will also refrain from paying the Nietos €25,000 ($27,000+) for one of the GP rooms in the paddock, and would rather stay in a hotel or buy a camper for Europe.

Wonder what's next until the 2016 season starts...
