[Update]Marisa Miller Helps Harley-Davidson Salute the Military [Video Included]

In all the scandal surrounding Harley-Davidson after its decision to close Buell and several other facilities and focus on its own brand to boost sales, the motorcycle manufacturer still found time to start a "Military Appreciation Month" campaign. As part of this campaign, the company, alongside supermodel Marisa Miller, salute active and retired U.S. military personnel during November.

Just as expected, Miller and Harley-Davidson motorcycles will be featured together in military-themed print and digital ads, posters, postcards and calendars. This, however, isn’t the first time the 29-year-old supermodel works with the motorcycle maker. Last year, Miller also helped the company launch the Harley-Davidson VRSCF V-Rod Muscle model.

"I'm honored to help the Motor Company salute the brave men and women who keep our country free," said Miller. "My grandfather is a veteran, and I've had the unique opportunity to meet several service men and women during recent USO tours, so the military holds a special place in my heart. I hope other Americans will join me and Harley-Davidson in saluting these real life heroes during the month of November."

"We're excited to have Marisa's support to help us during our first-ever Military Appreciation Month,"
said Dino Bernacchi, Harley-Davidson's director of Advertising and Promotions. "We're certain she'll be helpful in encouraging other Americans to join us in recognizing and thanking those who serve our country."

The campaign also includes a special section of the Harley-Davidson Web site, where customers can create an electronic postcard with artwork of Miller and Harley-Davidson motorcycles along with a personal message of gratitude that you can send to an active or retired member of the US military.

And, as the cherry on the cake, one active or retired military member will get the opportunity to win a a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle, personally delivered by Marisa Miller, thanks to a partnership between HD and Maxim magazine.
