Manager Confirms Glock with Toyota in 2010

Timo Glock can rest assured about his 2010 seat in Formula One. Unless Japanese manufacturer Toyota decides to pull out of the sport at the end of the ongoing year, the German driver will continue as official racing driver for the Cologne based team next season. The news was shared to the media by Glock's manager, who therefore confirmed his client's multi-year contract with Toyota.

Timo will be together with Toyota in 2010. Of that there is no doubt,” revealed manager Hans Bernd Kamps, as reported by sport1.de.

When the German driver returned to Formula One racing at the beginning of last year – having previously driven for Jordan during the course of 2004 – the media suggested that he had inked a multi-year contract with the Japanese manufacturer. That news was never confirmed, however, which led to numerous rumors.

Kamps' announcement means that Glock will drive for a 3rd consecutive season with Toyota, while teammate Jarno Trulli's future with the team is yet unclear. No news have surfaced about the Italian veteran's plans for next season, but we're pretty sure he'll continue as a Toyota man in 2010 as well.

In the meantime, Glock & Co have at least two other things to worry about before the upcoming Turkish Grand Prix. The first one would be turning their TF109 into a frontrunner again – as its behavior in Monaco was no good to say the least – while the second is whether the FIA and the FOTA will soon come to a compromise on the 2010 regulations.

As announced by Ferrari – and backed by Toyota's John Howett – late last week, the F1 teams will not begin preparations for next year's championship unless the budget cap rules will be scrapped by the FIA. Talking about the chaos that is now dominating the world of Formula One, Glock admitted he's not feeling very sure about his F1 job for 2010.

If next year there is no more Formula One, then I would return to working with my Dad in his scaffolding company,” Glock was quoted as saying recently.
