Ever had one of those days that was so bad you couldn’t believe you made it home alive at the end of it? Well, I’m guessing Joel Moran must’ve felt this way on Sunday. Who’s Joel Moran you ask?
Well, he’s one lucky man that was nearly crushed to death by an out of control SUV in West Gardiner, Maine. He was just running some errands and pumping gas into his car when the mistake a random driver did could’ve cost him his life.
On the street next to the gas station where Joel was standing at the moment, a black SUV ran a stop sign. Big deal, right? Well, it wouldn’t have been if the second SUV in the video didn’t just happen to drive right through that intersection at that exact moment.
In a twist of faith, the second car was clipped and spun out of control, hitting Joel’s car and showing him what a near-death experience is all about. It may seem like an exaggeration but if he were just a couple of inches more to the right, we could’ve been talking about a tragedy right about now.
Fortunately, his instinct and the loud tire screeches in the background made him realize that in that split second when all of this went down, he should take a step back. That was also what saved his life or, at least, some of his limbs.
