Man Chased by the Police on a Golf Course

The Suncoast Superboat Grand Prix festival was supposed to start out with a nice, aristocratic golf tournament on Saturday, during which pro golfers and spectators were to enjoy some fresh Arnold Palmers and spend a quiet afternoon out of the house. Instead, what they've got was a forced game of hide and seek, courtesy of 55-year-old Issa Alyan's Jeep Cherokee.

The man in question crashed the gates of Heritage Oaks off the Bee Ridge Extention with his car while being chased down by the police, in what was to become a 20-minute adventure on the golf course. Needless to say, Alyan's first target was going around the green, after which he started going after the 140 people present on the course at the time. Most of them started hiding behind the trees for their lives.

According to mysuncoast.com, the chase ended when the deputies “forced Alyan into a row of shrubs and he was wrestled out of his Jeep.” And, as if that weren't enough, one of the deputies, namely Bert Sawalt, suffered a dislocated shoulder when trying to take Alyan out of the car.

Maybe trying to set up a plan for his next escape, Alyan immediately started complaining about some chest problems, so he was transported to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital shortly after. Unless he'll ditch the policemen once more, he will face charges of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Aggravated Fleeing to Elude Capture.

Notice how we said “once more” in the previous sentence? Well, according to the same publication, this was not the police's first attempt to capture the 55-year old male, as he was not long ago charged with domestic violence and pulled over by a deputy on Friday night. When the policeman tried to question a female passenger he was with, Alyan drove at him and got away.

Later that night, Alyan managed to get out of another trap set up by two deputies, by ramming into their cars. The next morning, a crew was expecting him at his residence, but at their sight Alyan turned the wheel and started driving towards the Heritage Oaks.

The cops were following him... we thought he'd go into the parking lot, but took a sharp right, but he came right for us. We ran to the trees to dodge him,” said witness Katie Rizi.
