Being seen at night when riding a motorcycle is often a life-saver. Things aren't always nice and smooth in plain daylight, so riding in the dark or twilight only makes things worse. Lunasee upgrades their product line-up and brings in the Lunasee 320 and Lunasee Pro 1000 side lighting systems.
These two new additions are complementary to the LunaGlo light emitting rim tape, which is now sold separately. This allows riders the freedom to choose their favorite color combination for their bikes.
The Lunasee 320 and Pro 1000 systems are comprised of 4 LED with universal mounting hardware which light the rim tape and "charge" it, causing it to glow. Needless to say that the stronger the charging light is, the brighter the rim tape will glow.
The Pro 1000 system comes with 1 Watt LEDs, 3 times more powerful than those in the Lunasee 320 and comes with a lifetime warranty.
While adding glowing rim tape to one's bike is definitely a matter of style preferences, this system looks like an effective way to be better identified on dark roads, even though it makes a rather little difference form the front or the rear.
And you must clean your rims once 2-3 days or more often, if you're a daily rider. Anyway, for $159.95 (€117) and $24.95 (€18) the Lunasee Pro 1000 and LunaGLO tape, respectively sound like a nice idea.
