Loeb Doesn't Want to Use Tactics in Rally Australia

Sebastien Loeb said he would not like to use tactics in the Rally of Australia, but would not neglect the approach if necessity calls.

The New South Wales roads, which make up the circuit, are covered in loose gravel. This will make it more difficult for the first man on the road and benefit the ones following. The Frenchman will start behind his main title challenger Mikko Hirvonen.

"I don't want to talk about using tactics. It's too early to say now what will happen. If I have the chance to take the lead then I'm going to take it. Since the start of the season, we have seen that the driver who is going fastest and leading is winning the rallies. This [winning from the front] is the best solution", declared Sebastien Loeb.

Weather forecasters announced there is a possibility it could rain over night and that would bind the loose gravel, which will be in Hirvonen's advantage the very next day.

"Rain would definitely help me. I'm going to be doing that dance," said Hirvonen.

Loeb, who is looking for a win since Rally Argentina in May advised beating Mikko Hirvonen on a new stage would be difficult.

"I did win a kart race in the summer, so I have been on the top step of the podium recently, but I need to find a better place to do it. I need to come back and win a WRC round again. Like we saw in Finland on the last rally [where Hirvonen won], Mikko is hard to beat on fast gravel," ended Loeb.
