We knew Lit Motors were definitely out of this world when we saw their amazing C-1 self-balancing machine. So the new Kubo electric scooter they're now crowdfunding on Kickstarter is yet another proof of their visionary engineering and design.
The first thing that comes to mind is that the Lit Kubo looks like Apple had a child with Vespa and it was raised by a family of pickup trucks. Sounds a bit wacky, I know, but that's how things really are.
The hollow monocoque frame houses the batteries, but the special design with multiple fly-points makes sure you can accommodate a large luggage aboard the Kubo, and that's a thing few scooter can do, if any. Strap your box in place with elastic nets and hooks ad you're all set.
Kubo can reach 45 mph (72 km/h) and comes with a range of up to 50 miles (80 km). It can haul up to 300 lbs (136 kg), cargo and rider and believe me that a 22" (56 cm) square aperture for the luggage is no joke.
The seat and rear suspension are adjustable, and the front brake uses a hydraulic disc, while the rear brakes are integrated in the 4hp hub motor and are regenerative. Lights are all LED, with a digital, LCD dash and an integrated charger is standard.
Count in a lockable storage compartment for extra cords or cargo nets and you're already as versatile as any other, bigger scooter can be. Early birds can get the Kubo for $5,000 (€3,690).
