Hot hatchbacks may offer both speed and practicality, but they have grown increasingly expensive over the years. For example, the A45 AMG starts at nearly £40,000 before you add any options. However, Fiat has something for those that want style and good, cheap fun. It's called the Abarth 595 Trofeo Edition and will be available in Britain in just 250 examples.
Leaving all objectivity aside, we love this particular Abarth and might even consider buying one in the future. You see, prices start at just £15,150, and we can't think of a single fun car that's so cheap. Even the Vauxhall Adam S costs significantly more at £16,995. What's going to get you noticed a Vauxhall or an Abarth? Exactly!

But what does the little Fiat offer? Well, the version of the 1.4-liter turbo in this particular car packs only 140 hp, while some Abarths push 180 hp. However, you don't need power to have fun. It's possible to push this cute bugger to 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 7.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 127 mph.

As we've already established at the beginning of this story, there are only going to be 250 of these cars in Britain. That means they will be as rare as hen's teeth. Fiat offers a choice of three colors (Record Grey, Scorpione Black or Officina Red) and additional design features like color-coded brake calipers with matching wheel centre caps, a carbon-effect Abarth decal set, 17-inch ‘Formula’ alloy wheels, dark-tinted rear quarter windows and ‘Trofeo Edition’ badges.

Sebastiano Fedrigo, Country Manager of Abarth brand, commented: “The Abarth 595 Trofeo Edition is a very special model for the Abarth brand because Carlo Abarth was a racer first and foremost and to this day the Trofeo Abarth Selenia Europe race series remains at the very heart of the brand. Trofeo Edition brings a little bit of that magic to just 250 enthusiasts in the UK which makes it an exclusive and even more desirable package.”

You can have a lot of fun in a simple Abarth model for half the price of a Golf R. However, Fiat still offers more hardcore models, such as the £23,000 595 Competizione Convertible track car, equipped with an 180 horsepower engine and an MTA (manual transmission automatic) gearbox.
