So far we know that Lexus plans to put out the new RC sportscar (which is basically the coupe version of the IS model) and the TX crossover to replace the GX truck-based SUV.
But there is more! Lexus also plans to introduce its first turbocharged petrol engine as a step to modernize and increase its powertrain selection.
A 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder expected to produce 250 horsepower is rumored to enter production. It will be used as a base engine for the Lexus mid-sized entry-level vehicles in the range.
A turbocharged 2-liter was talked at the 2012 Paris Motor Show while a report from Automotive News confirmed the new powerplant’s feasibility due to its fuel efficiency and improved output as against the actual 2.5-liter AR engine in the range.
