Problems with the steering system have led to Lexus voluntarily recalling the 2013 GS F Sport sedan, this being the first time that this car has suffered any problems.
The recall only concerns some 650 units of the GS 350 powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine and fitted with the optional F Sport package that provides better steering and a sharper pedal response.
"On certain early 2013 model year GS 350 F-Sport RWD vehicles, the ECU for the VGRS system could cause the steering wheel to become off-centered when restarting the vehicle immediately after the vehicle is parked with the steering wheel turned,” Lexus admits.
Dealers will install an upgrade to the VGRS ECU calibration system, and Lexus says the fix should only take about 30 minutes. The recall will start early next month.
