According to official reports, Lexus sold 244,166 vehicles in the United States last year, achieving third place in luxury segment just behind BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
This year however, Lexus expects to sell between 260,000 and 270,000 vehicles, as the company’s executive vice president Mark Templin said recently.

"Our goal in the U.S. market is just good, steady growth," he said. "We don't want to try to do too much too fast. That's when bad habits creep into the business. We absolutely get no pressure from Akio Toyoda to sell more volume.”, said Templin.

Lexus expects this sales growth due to the redesigned ES and LS models, as well as from the very attractive 2014 IS sport sedan offered in two versions - 250 and 350, both benefiting from the F Sport package as an optional.
