Lewis Hamilton's Brother to Make Motor Racing Debut in 2011

The Hamiltons will likely have two racers competing at professional level in the season to come, as it has been rumored that Lewis Hamilton's younger brother, Nicolas, is about to make his debut in motor racing in 2011.

The 19-year old recently gained his National B licence and has already made all the necessary steps to begin his racing career. He has already undergone a series of tests in the UK and will apparently make his debut in the Renault Clio Cup from as early as April, at the famous Brands Hatch circuit.

The Renault Clio Cup is ran as a support series for the British Touring Car Championship, so in case everything works out for Nicolas, he will likely kick off his career in touring car racing rather than single-seaters. Until then however, the youngest of the Hamilton brothers is content with the chance that will be given to him this year.

I have loved motor sport from a young age and watching my brother achieve so much has given me inspiration to make my own racing debut,” said Nicolas, who is suffering from cerebral palsy and has been a constant presence in the McLaren garage ever since his brother set foot in F1.

I know this will not be an easy task, but I hope my doing this will give inspiration to others who have challenges in their life,” he added.
