Legalizing Team Orders Won't Change Red Bull's Strategy in 2011

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) ruled out the team orders ban from the Formula One regulation last Friday, but that isn't to mean newly-crowned champions Red Bull Racing will change their strategy for the future. If anything, the Austrian team will continue to give both their drivers equal shots at the F1 title, as long as they have mathematical chances to hope for the crown.

“I don't think it changes anything for us. We will go into next year giving both drivers the same support as we always have,” said Horner in a recent interview with Autosport magazine.

The important thing for us is that it is what they do on the track. We gave both drivers the very best we could this year and that is the way we will go into next year,” he added.

The FIA stated that team orders will be allowed in Formula One starting the 2011 season, but certain actions that are detrimental to the sport will be punished as such. The move was saluted by Ferrari's Stefano Domenicali during the past weekend, as the Italian boss said it was time for the hypocrisy in F1 to come to an end.

Moving away from the team orders topic, Horner also insisted that he sorted things out with Mark Webber over the latter's secret injury in the late stages of last season, and tipped his driver with good title chances for next season.

(Things are) Fine. Mark and I have known each other for a long time and it is important for him to take some time out this winter and come back stronger – and heal fully. I am sure he will come back even stronger in 2011,” he added.
