Specifically, the rare Jag was sold to eBay user 'brew1974' for the high (but interestingly chosen) price of $299,220. The seller advertised the vehicle as being in "Collector Condition", with the odometer showing only 2,223 miles (3,578 kilometers).
Currently located in Nashville, Tennessee, the 278th and final Jaguar XJ220 was manufactured in 1993 by the JaguarSport-Tom Walkinshaw Racing joint venture in Bloxham, Oxfordshire.

Even though the concept featured V12 muscle and all-wheel drive, the final product wasn't as shabby as people thought it would be back at the dawn of the '90s.

The British feline features a rear mid-engine layout, with power sourced from a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. Throughout 1992, the XJ220 held the record for the fastest production car in the world after it has been clocked at 213 miles per hour (approximately 343 clicks). Mind you, 540 horsepower and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) of torque were quite impressive stats for that era.

But the way the drivetrain delivers its power is the dominant character of this vehicle. As opposed to the much more linear power delivery of the exquisite Ferrari F40, Jaguar's XJ220 suffers from huge amounts of turbo lag. But as soon as the turbos spool up at the right RPMs, the rear-wheel drive British cat surges unlike any other supercar before or since.

With approximately 12 units currently residing in North America, this vehicle is as rare as it gets around here. The seller says in the ad's description that it brought the LeMans Blue XJ220 to the U.S. in 2000, with the car featuring a Smoke Grey leather interior, complete service record, support documentation, as well as a Clean & Clear TN title.
