To whom it may concern, the Lancia Delta HF Integrale scored no less than 46 WRC victories and won the WRC Constructors Championship 6 times in a row from 1987 to 1992. The record-breaking rally monster wouldn’t have been possible without the existence of the road-going Lancia Delta HF Integrale hot hatch. And good golly, you can buy one right now in the United States if you have greenback to spare.
If it isn’t a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati, chances are it is a very scarce machine on US soil. The Lancia Delta HF Integrale abides to that statement, but not this one. Posted on Craigslist Phoenix, the 1987 model at hand is imported from Poland, and it’s an 8V model, not the 1989 evolution with 16 valves overall. What’s the asking price on this heap of old school Bella Italia?

$27,000, take it or leave it. Considering that a good condition 8V surpasses the €30,000 mark in Europe, that’s a bargain from our point of view. However, something needs to be told about the Lancia Delta HF Integrale that’s listed on Craigslist. In a nutshell, it’s not all-original. Other than the smear of white paint on the left-hand side of the rear bumper’s black cladding, the owner tells that the engine was removed to replace some rusty panels with clean ones from a donor vehicle. Neat, huh?

But now things tend to go berserk with the motorsport theme. The Martini Racing livery, the fiberglass hood and tailgate, a safety cage, Recaro front seats with 4-point harnesses, and deleted rear seats are mods that might put off some of the purists. Then there’s the Alcantara-laden dashboard, animated by racing switches and a push button ignition with a kill switch (how cool does that sound?) hidden in the glove box.

In terms of creature comforts, power locks will have to suffice. Although it’s eligible to wear license plates and everyday driving on public roads, the steel spring racing clutch and aftermarket blow-off valve aren’t exactly the right elements for a commuter car.

Lastly, the owner tells that “the clutch is very heavy and requires a fine touch to smoothly change gears in low RPM,” which is a bit of a hassle. But then again, this is an Integrale, the 4-wheeled equivalent to the Latin fire found in Salma Hayek, Monica Bellucci and so forth.
