Lamborghini Opens First South American Franchise

Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Lamborghini announced yesterday the opening of the first official franchised Lamborghini dealership in South America, as part of a global attempt to expand the brand's visibility.

Entering South America continues Lamborghini’s ongoing strategy to further develop the brand’s comprehensive worldwide dealer network,” Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini CEO said in a release. “Via Italia Group was chosen for its expertise in the luxury sports car market, extraordinary sales performance and its reputation for exemplary customer service.

Lamborghini vehicles will be marketed through Via Italia Group, a 13-year old luxury sports car dealer in Brazil. The store is located on Avenida Europa, while the after-sales facility, technical service and original parts departments will be housed in a warehouse in Vila Leopoldina.

We are extremely pleased to be working with Lamborghini and honored to be the brand’s first dealer partner in South America,” Ricardo Briz, Via Italia Group general manager added. “We have high expectations for the new franchise and hope to grow into one of Lamborghini’s most successful dealers worldwide.

The opening comes just in time for the special package for Christmas, launched by the manufacturer to as an incentive for those interested in buying a Lambo. The package includes a limited edition gift-boxed candles and ceramic baubles...

What did you expect? Pay several hundred thousand dollars for one and don't receive a bauble? Or did you think the special offer is a 25 percent discount on a Gallardo's catalogue price?
