Lamborghini Murcielago Still Sounds Better than Aventador

While the Lamborghini Aventador may be better than its predecessor, the Murcielago, in every single way, when it comes to looks, performance, comfort, usability, quality and practicality, we still say it is inferior to the older car in one very important way.
We are, of course, talking about the engine note. If you hear a Murcielago coming, you will want to get out of the way, and fast - it sounds menacing and raw. The Aventador is a much more civilized proposition - we heard one on the street yesterday, and we could have sworn it was a four-pot Fiesta, and not a radical supercar from Italy.

The aforementioned car was not in Sport Mode, and the revs never got above 1,500 rpm, so it is not necessarily an accurate comparison. For that, we need to turn to an older video posted by Marchettino, featuring an Aventador being revved hard.

Compare it to the video linked above, and make your own judgement. We say the Murcielago has a much purer sound, and compared to it, the Aventador sounds much too toned down and civilized, and a supercar, no matter how practical and usable it is, should be anything but toned down - especially when it comes to the sound.

A custom exhaust does seem to fix the problem, though, but it shouldn`t be necessary.
