As usual, just weeks after BMW launches a new model, the guys from KW are quick to announced their suspension alternative for the range. This time, we’re talking about the new 2 Series Coupe.
Since the German manufacturer is involved in BMW’s Motorsport endeavors, working with the Bavarian engineers in creating the ultimate Z4 GT3 car, it was only natural that they were the first ones to release aftermarket parts for the 2 Series range.
Three new coilover kits are now available for both ‘regular’ 2 Series cars and the M Performance Automobile, M235i. KW V1, V2 and V3 kits will sort out any kind of complaints you might have about the ride, handling and agility in these cars.
The top of the range model is the V3 coilover kit that has independently adjustable compression and rebound damping. The latter can be configured in 16 different ways while the former can be adjusted with no less than 12 clicks of the adjustment wheel.
Variant 2 coilovers offer an adjustable rebound too, in the same 16 positions while the Variant 1 model comes pre-defined. For the M235i, the suspension can be lowered between 10 mm (0.394 in.) and 35 mm (1.377 in.) at the front and 5 (0.19685 in.) and 35 mm (1.377 in.) at the back while for the other models, the same adjustment can go up to 50 mm (2 inches).
Adaptive KW DDC coilovers with an optional smart phone app control and the KW Clubsport systems for the BMW 2 Series coupe are also in development and will be available soon.
