Kubica Not Influenced by Ferrari Links

Amid rumors that he has already signed a preliminary deal with Ferrari for the 2011 Formula One championship, Polish driver Robert Kubica insisted that he is not at all distracted by those kind of allegations about his future in the series.

He signed a one-year deal with Renault in the late stages of last season, meaning that he will be in the rumor mill for the entire 2010 campaign – or at least until he'll present the media with a new deal for his future. Given his links with Ferrari in the past and Felipe Massa's contract termination at the end of 2010, it was only a matter of time until the media started predicting a future deal between Kubica and the Prancing Horse.

There were already rumors last year about Ferrari, and there are rumors again this year. We will see. Up to now, the rumours have only been rumors,” insisted Kubica, according to Autosport.

I'll keep working, and for now I'm concentrating on every single race and trying to do the best job possible for the team which I'm racing for. It's very, very clear for me that what will happen in the future doesn't affect me now. I didn't think for any second or any minute about next year or my future,” added the Pole, who has already scored a podium for Renault this year, in Australia.

Yesterday evening, during a media event in Italy, Ferrari's Luca di Montezemolo insisted that he doesn't want to hear about contract extensions for the time being – clearly a reference to Massa's situation – as the season is only in its early stages.

Earlier this week, Kubica praised the warm feelings surrounding him in the Renault garage, as he admitted he feels so much happier at Enstone than how he felt at BMW Sauber. However, he did emphasized the fact that he wants a car with which he can challenge for the world title, meaning yet another hint that he doesn't plan to stick around in the Renault F1 Team longer than 2010.
