In the last few months, we’ve seen tuning companies offer an increasing number of modification kits for vehicles that are no longer in production. These come as retrofit products and cater for the needs of customers who want to turn their second-hand vehicles into special creations.
Now, we are more than happy to present you a retrofit tuning kit that has been created for one of the most delicious cars on the planet, the Porsche Carrera GT. Before we begin, we’ll remind you that Porsche has only given birth to 1,270 units of the sweet-sounding, lightning-fast vehicle. These were brought to the world between 2004 and 2006.
Offered by Kubatech, the modification program plays with the car’s 5.7 liter V10 naturally aspirated powerplant. The engine has been gifted with a high-grade steel Cargraphic sport exhaust system and has received a new engine software. The modifications bring a power and torque premium of 48 hp and 52 Nm respectively, allowing the unit to deliver 660 hp and 642 Nm of torque.
If the car is manhandled, the 0 to 62 mph sprint will be covered in around 3.5 seconds and the speedometer can reach 213 mph/ 343 km/h (an increase of 8 mph/ 13 km/h over the factory stock value of the top speed).
The tuner needs between two and three days to install the performance kit, with the operation including special adjustments made using the company’s dynamometer.
“By this tuning, the Porsche Carrera GT has become more powerful. Improvement in performance is caused by modified engine electronics and the Cargraphic sport exhaust system,” stated the press release.
