Porsche’s new CEO, Matthias Muller is unveiling the new special editions of the 911 range, the 911 Speedster and the 911 Carrera GTS Coupe & Cabriolet at the 2010 Paris Auto Show.

The new CEO has just filled in his new position on the Porsche AG Board of Management. The executive is replacing Michael Macht, who has symbolically handed him the Porsche steering wheel. Muller previously served as the head of product planing, product management and model ranges for the VW Group and the VW brand.

The 911 Carrera GTS models (Coupe and Cabrio) are slotted between the Carrera S and the track-focused GT3 model. The vehicles are powered by a 3.8 liter six-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 408 hp (23 hp more than what the Carrera S has to offer) and a maximum torque of 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) that is available 200 rpm lower than in the Carrera S (4,200 rpm). Even though it offers superior performance, the engine promises to keep the fuel economy at the same level as the one of the Carrera S (19 mpg city/27 mpg highway). The driver can enjoy playing with a special exhaust system that comes with dual-tipped tailpipes.

The 911 Speedster is a special edition that will only allow 356 mortals to enjoy its charms. The vehicle uses the same engine as the GTS model and offers multiple bespoke interior and exterior features, as well as certain tech modifications such as a 60 mm lowered suspension and a more raked windscreen. The vehicle comes with a double-bubble hardcover for the soft-top.
