Bike jumps look cool even if they're not necessarily done as part of a stunt. Even more, when racing on a motocross track, knowing your way when it comes to jumping across several obstacles is mandatory.
Now then, if getting airborn is a relatively easy job, and all one has to do is ride the bike fast on the sloping ramp, landing is a lot more difficult. Keeping the bike straight in the air and properly balanced is only part of successfully landing a jump.
Damping the landing shock with the legs is the other thing which must be done properly, and this movie shows what can happen if the rider bounces on the seat upon landing. We'll just leave breaking the bike's rear sub-frame out of discussion, since the biggest problem is bike and rider bouncing together out of control and crashing.
The guy stood up and we can assume he was alright, though a bit shaken. Hopefully he learned that proper shock damping is essential when landing.
