King of Le Mans Tom Kristensen Is New Rolex Brand Ambassador

Winner of eight Le Mans titles, Tom Kristensen had just been named the new brand ambassador for the Swiss watchmaker Rolex. The famous company announced that King of Le Mans, as Kristensen is known by many, is the first of its world class partners to be officially introduced as their brand ambassador.

It was Danish Rolex retailer Klarlund that insisted an exception should be made, considering the performances achieved by the racecar driver.

As said, Kristensen has recorded no less than eight Le Mans victories, which is two more than legendary driver Jacky Ickx, who ended his career with six Le Mans wins.

The new ambassador was presented with a Rolex Daytona Everose, which is just one of Rolex’s gifts to its new sporting face.

“Not only are we proud of Tom Kristensen’s victories, we are also very proud hosts of such a rare and special occasion,” Klarlund managing director Stig Andersen told Worldtempus. “The other Rolex that Kristensen will receive is a Milgauss outfitted with a green sapphire crystal. These watches not only suit the “King of Le Mans,” they are also timepieces fit for an icon of our time.”

In 2000, 2001 and 2002, Kristensen won the the 24 Hours at Le Mans race with the Audi R8, while in 2003 he won it with Bentley. Next, in 2004 and 2005 he clinched the titles with the Audi R8 again, while in 2006 and 2008 he grabbed his last titles with the Audi R10.
