ChatGPT is slowly but surely conquering the automotive world, with the number of carmakers adopting the technology growing regularly. ChatGPT-powered chatbots are, therefore, becoming mainstream, and considering how they work, there's no reason not to.
They can easily replace a human being, as they can engage in conversations and provide the user with everything they need to know about a vehicle. Depending on how deeply it's integrated into the vehicle, it can also offer information on faulty codes, make service appointments, and offer emergency support.

Kia is the latest big name to adopt a chatbot, as the company's new mobile app, scheduled to launch on iPhone and Android next year, will include an AI assistant to offer smart capabilities through a conversational experience. The 2024 EV3 will be the first model to pioneer the new strategy, with other Kias to follow shortly.

The carmaker says customers can expect schedule management, electric vehicle route optimization, travel planning, entertainment, and emergency support in the new AI assistant. It'll be available through the mobile app, so you'll have to connect your smartphone to the car.

The new Kia app will include several new features aimed at EVs, including E-Routing. It will allow drivers to see the current battery range, see nearby charging stations, and receive better routes to optimize power consumption. Additionally, it will include easy access to nearby POIs, such as restaurants. Kia wants to bring everything at a one-tap distance not only to make the experience more convenient but also to help optimize every route to improve the vehicle's range per charge.

The chatbot is certainly the piece de resistance in the new Kia app, and hopefully, it'll include support for commands that'll make the Kia Boyz walk away. Leaving the sarcasm aside, Kia investing in new-gen technology is good news for the carmaker and the industry, but customers whose cars are still exposed to the Kia Boyz can only see new announcements reluctantly.

Just earlier this week, I told you about a viral photo that proved the Kia Boyz madness is far from being over. A Kia customer who recently recovered their car after being stolen with the infamous TikTok hack decided to purchase what many described as the "Kia starter pack," which includes an AirTag for remote tracking, GPS tracker stickers for all four windows, and a steering wheel lock to block the boyz from driving away in the vehicle if they get inside.

A chatbot is undoubtedly nice, but unless it helps prevent cars from getting stolen, I doubt it'll wash away all the problems that Kia owners have been forced to deal with in the last couple of years.

Look for the new Kia app in the two stores at some point next year.
