The American World Rally Championship driver Ken Block is mostly known for his insane videos, where he takes Gymkhana to a whole different level. Now, Block and his famous Hoonigan team partnered up with BRP to further promote the Can-Am Maverick vehicle.
According to Marc-Andre Dubois, Director of Global Marketing at Can-Am Off-Road, “Ken Block is the essence of an action-sports athlete and marketer” and “his entertaining nature, video feats and jaw-dropping driving skills all speak directly to the core of those passionate about performance, a quality that remains a fundamental pillar of the Can-Am brand.

Apparently, Block is very excited about this deal, and he can’t wait to add the Can-Am Maverick to his collection and drive it on any kind of terrain.

Although no part discussed the possibility of putting a Maverick MAX 1000R Turbo vehicle in the upcoming Gymkhana video, there is a high probability of seeing the Can-Am aside the hardcore Hoonicorn while drifting around some crazy obstacles and leaving huge trails of smoke behind.

Block’s latest addition to his collection is a 1978 Ford Escort MK2, a car famous in Europe for its rally pedigree. The car is his first Gymkhana machine and the first Ford rally car he ever bought. After giving it the Hoonigan and Rocket Bunny treatment, Block, together with his team, mounted a 2.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated Millington engine under the hood, which develops 333 horsepower. The impressive part, though, is that this “little” engine revs all the way to 9,000 rpm and sends all the power to the rear wheels.

BRP is the company that designs, develops, manufactures and distributes power sports vehicles, including the Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft, Can-Am all-terrain and side-by-side vehicles or the Can-Am Spyder roadsters. The company also creates the Rotax engines for boats, karts, motorcycles or small airplanes.
