The Keating TKR is powered by a 7.0-liter engine that develops 1,800 bhp... This should make the Veyron feel bad about itself... Thanks to this enormous output of power, the Keating TKR managed to add an extra 3 mph over the current record, held by the Shelby Aero TT.
The supercar therefore managed to achieve a top speed of 260.1 mph (416 km/h) on the Salt Lake Flats in California last month. However, the company has to repeat the performance if it wants to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
“The Keating TKR realises our ambition to take on the world’s finest supercars and win. This car rivals them all for looks, handling, performance and exclusivity. And best of all, it’s British,” said Tony Keating, founder of Keating Supercars.
The project will be in the Reef Paint Shop stand at the 2009 MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show.
“We are delighted to have the association with Keating and be part of the MPH Show,” said Reef Paint Shop Managing Director, Andrew Figini. “We stripped the original red colour and replaced with a gloss black finish with custom flair in candy-brandy wine before clear-coating – it looks spectacular when the light hits it.”
Other impressive models announced for the 2009 MPH Show include the Caterham R500, which achieved the fifth fastest time on Top Gear’s Lap board, the Pagani Cinque and a Bugatti Veyron model with the F1 number plate, meaning the most expensive car in the world will be wearing the most expensive number plate sold in the UK.
