Kawasaki is set to debut a recall campaign that will see the bike producer recall its Ninja ZX-10R supersport models due to an oil leak. The recall affects 4,170 units belonging to the 2011 and to the 2012 model years - engine oil can leak from the joint where the starter is placed on the crankcase and gather on top of the latter.
The oil can eventually spill over onto the rear tire. We don’t need to take the explanation further from this point and even if we did it would be difficult for us to write with this image in our minds.

Kawasaki will notify owners “shortly”, to use the official words, with dealers set to remove the starter and seal the crankcase properly. You can contact Kawasaki at 1-866-802-9381 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4236.
