Toyota’s US arm recently announced yet another recall, with the company set to call back a total of 778,000 cars due to loose nuts on the rear suspension assembly. We are talking about 760,000 Toyota RAV4 vehicles belonging to 2006- early 2011 model years and 18,000 Lexus HS 250h units from the 2010 model year.
The fasteners on the rear suspension were not tightened to the correct torque value, which could lead to extra wear and rust and can finally cause the rear axles to separate. Toyota is currently developing a solution for the problem and once this is ready, it will notify owners and call the cars in for repairs free of charge.

We’ll remind you that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently announced that it was looking into this issue with the RAV4 due to the fact that it had received complaints of tie rod failures caused by rust.
