American actress and Grey’s Anatomy star, Kate Walsh, the driver of a white Porsche 911 Cabriolet (997 model) was recently spotted while she was checking and replenishing the pressure in her car’s tires. We don’t really expect big TV and movie stars to do this kind of thing on their own any more - they can hire people to do pretty much anything, these days, so seeing her do this on her own is quite charming.
It seems that the 911, especially in its convertible guise, has really captured a crowd all of its own. Its owners don’t care that it’s chassis is not as stiff as that of the coupe, or that the roof mechanism adds unwanted weight which slightly dents performance. They have chosen this car because, aside from being one of the best driving machines ever conceived, it is still practical, it has four seats and a decent-sized trunk (in the front).
Its customers, like Kate Walsh, definitely love the open-air experience it offers, as well as the overall package which to this day, has only been beaten by one car - the new 911.
