Some would claim that the Bangle-era Z4 is one of the most unlikable cars out there, but we rather like its strange appearance and think the coupe version is one of the hottest things with four wheels made at the time.
We were of course happy to find out that JM Cardesign from Bergheim, Germany, have turned their attention to the old Z4. Basically, they fitted the old car with bits of the new one at the front to create a sort of cross-generations hybrid model from hell. The front bumper and grille were modified to match the headlights, mudguards and bonnet of the E85.
The cosmetic changes also include the wheel arches that were extended by 30 mm on each side using good old metal. We love it when customizers really take their time with a car. This isn’t just another body kit added to a new car, and while the end result isn’t ground breaking, we’d be proud to cruise down the street in this very special Z.
The car is lowered by a three-thread chassis version KW kit that’s adjustable in several parameters (height, pressure and tensile dampening). The three-part screwed Work VS XX-light-metal wheel rims with their spokes in matte gunmetal have been added.
At the front the size is the 9×20 inches ET32, while at the back they fitted fuller 11×20 inches ET32. The wheels were wrapped with Dunlop Sport Maxx high-performance tires in 245/30R20 and 285/25R20 respectively.
Other changes include a brace for the engine bay and an end muffler with 76 millimeter double-end tubes from Eisenmann.
