The BBC’s annual report for 2011 was published yesterday and, among other, it brings us some juicy financial information connected to Top Gear. The reports shows that Jeremy Clarkson received around GBP3.5 million (approximately EUR4.5 million or USD5.5 million) from the BBC last year.
The figure places Top Gear’s top man well ahead of the other well-paid BBC starts. This is particularly interesting as the corporation has vowed to reduce the funds allocated to the “talent pay”.
However, it seems that Clarkson is an exception to this rule, but this is debatable, since he is paid for far more activities than presenting the show itself. Clarkson was rewarded for a whole range of activities: presenting Top Gear , as well as exploiting the show (he received dividends from live shows and merchandise).

Our say: You don't have to be an F1 star to be extremely well paid for driving fast.
