Japan is a very special country. Very few, if any of the world’s peoples would have made such a speedy recovery from a nation-wide disaster on the scale of the one that it endured. Well, apparently, things are back on track, and this is clearly reflected in the substantial increase in car sales registered from the start of the year.
Comparing the numbers to those of the same period of last year, a very clear upward tendency is obvious: sales figures have been increasing for the last 10 consecutive months, marking a 40.9% increase in sales when compared to the same period of last year. May marked the most significant boost in sales, as the 317,152 vehicles signified a substantial 66.3% increase, as of last year.
September of 2011 marked the start of the sales rebound, as most of the local manufacturers had already restored their supply chains, thanks in part to authorities’ promptitude in dealing with infrastructure issues (blocked roads, collapsed bridges and even collapsed roads).
