The 6 series Ninjas have always been radical bikes created for radical pilots and extreme rides. It is little wonder that the official commercial for the 2013 ZX-6R takes place on one of the most extreme tracks of the planet: the TT Isle of Man.
The rider chosen for this rather daring footage is James Hillier of Bornemouth Kawasaki Racing team, a 1000cc pilot, now 25. Now that the Ninja 636 is out in the open, it looks even more alluring, especially when thinking about the new things about it.
For the 2013 model, the engine receives a 37cc bump, and the traction control offers dual modes: full and low. The “Low” mapping reduces some 20 percent of the available power in mid-range RPM, while delivering the full blast at lower revs. The throttle is a bit more tempered in the “Low” mapping.
Easier front suspension is now standard and the so are the new monoblock Nissin calipers. An ABS version will be also available.
