The awarded Ducati 1199 Panigale superbike gets a new colors for 2013. Now, don't expect anything flamboyant as Ducati seems to keep true to their noble sober looks.
In 2013, the 1199 Panigale S will be available in Arctic White, and the classic red version will still be still sold. The Tricolore 1199 is still the top-drawer model and will also be available,.
On the technical side, the 2013 Panigale series brings no dramatic changes. The ABS is optional for Panigale and Panigale S. The standard 1199 comes with 50 mm Marzocchi aluminium fork and Sachs rear shock, while the S version sports 43 mm Öhlins legs and electronic TTX rear suspension.
The S is also provided with Marchesini forged and machined lightweight wheels and a special “aero kit” can also be ordered to improve aerodynamics and decrease the drag. For both versions, ride-by-wire, Traction Control, Quick Shift, Engine Brake Control and Riding Modes are standard.
On the other hand, the Panigale Tricolore has standard ABS and lightweight 3-spoked wheels, as opposed to the 10-spoke rims of the other two models. An enhanced version of the Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA+) GPS-linked software and titanium muffler are also offered as standard.
All 2013 models shave off some 22 lbs (9.96 kg) and now weigh 361.5 lbs (163.7 kg) dry. Add in the 195 BHP engine and we get the best power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios in the world. Prices will be announced soon, so stay tuned.
