The Jaguar E-Type is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, so we can expect to see one birthday party after another. The latest announcement of such an event lets us know that the Jaguar Exhibition Hall (Ricoch Arena) in Coventry City will display an army of E-Types in preparation for the footbal match between Coventry and Watford.
Around 50 owners will bring their E-Types to the exhibition, also being ready to chat to attenders of the event ahead of the Sky Blues’ Championship confrontation against the Hornets that is scheduled to kick off at 3pm on April 2nd.
"This year marks the 50th anniversary of the E-Type and we couldn't let the occasion pass without celebrating in Coventry. The event at the Ricoh Arena is a wonderful opportunity for people to see the E-Type in the flesh and with 50 beautiful cars expected to be there, it will be a real treat," said Geoff Cousins, Managing Director, Jaguar UK.
"Throughout the 60s and 70s, the E-Type was the car to be seen in. Football legend George Best was an E-Type owner, along with Brigitte Bardot, Tony Curtis and Steve McQueen."
Ray Ranson, Coventry City chairman, promised that this will be a memorable event for Sky Blues and Jaguar fans.
"We want as many people as possible to come early and be involved in this exciting day. This is a great opportunity for people who have not been to a match for a while to come along and have a memorable day out," Ranson said.
