Facing health issues in recent years, famous cosmetic dentistry pioneer and British entrepreneur James Hull announced to sell his impressive 543-car collection about two months ago, specifying that his biggest wish is the lot to remain in the country. Jaguar Land Rover heard the news and it’s now the proud owner of one of the biggest British car collections.
The price at which the huge collection got sold hasn’t been disclosed, but previous evaluations said the lot worth over £100 million ($170 million / €126 million).

"It's a wonderful day for me personally, knowing the collection is going to a good home; and I think it’s a great day for British motoring, with JLR, an iconic British brand, and my preferred bidder, taking responsibility for preserving and protecting a part of the UK’s fantastic engineering and manufacturing heritage,”
James said at the sale’s announcement. “Indeed, my collection is going home.”

The collection includes 130 classic Jaguars, with a rare aluminum-bodied XK120 and an XKSS being the most interesting ones. Special cars like Lord Mountbatten’s Mini Traveller, Winston Churchill’s Austin, Mike Hailwood’s ’61 E-Type and Elton John’s Bentley can also be found among the models.

Along with the British classics, the collection includes 365 pedal cars as well as 300 pieces of memorabilia. The whole lot is now property of Jaguar’s newly formed Special Vehicle Operations, the division that handles special tasks like the F-Type Project 7 and those heritage lightweight E-Type recreations.
