Italian Media Back Ferrari's Team Tactics

Ferrari has taken a healthy approach towards this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, which is not to talk to the media about the German Grand Prix controversy – team tactics – and focus solely on this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, the last round before the summer break.

While some consider this a “no remorse” policy from the Scuderia – we're obviously referring to the rivals of the Prancing Horse, as well as the frustrated media in Brazil – the Italian newspapers are backing Ferrari all the way. More, Italy's Tuttosport made use of Luca di Montezemolo's latest “hypocrisy” claims to point some fingers at Ferrari's rivals in F1.

The first target was McLaren Mercedes' team boss Martin Whitmarsh, who recently told the media that there have been, nor will it be any team orders in his team. Tuttosport calls this “amnesia,” recalling an incident that dates back to the 2008 season, when Lewis Hamilton was handed the lead in the German Grand Prix (also at Hockenheim, what a coincidence) by his teammate Heikki Kovalainen.

Additionally, other media in Italy pointed to the Turkish Grand Prix this year, when the McLaren drivers were given “low fuel” messages via radio in order not to race each other. According to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, the same thing happened last weekend, in Germany, when Hamilton and Jenson Button were running in 4th and 5th places respectively.

Massa was not told he was consuming too much fuel or his tires were in crisis, but others have been (told those things) this season,” argued Gazzetta dello Sport's writer Umberto Zapelloni, referring to the same incident.
