Riding a scooter or bike through heavy traffic, which is made up nearly entirely of cars (and some trucks and buses), is a dangerous affair, no matter how attentive the rider is. However, if the driver doesn’t pay attention to his surroundings when riding in heavy traffic conditions, then something very bad is bound to happen.
Take this rider for instance. He is riding his scooter along normally, but without being aware of his surroundings he wanders right in front of a speeding bus. Thankfully, the bus driver was paying attention and souns his horn to warn the rider to get out of his way - he narrowly escapes.

This means that ‘it wasn’t his time’, so he lives to ride another day, hopefully with more awareness of what is going on around him - he may only have gotten ‘one free pass’ and may not get another.
