Japanese tuners Abflung have taken one of the best looking modern Mercedes cars and redesigned it to within an inch of its former life. We’re referring to the Mercedes Benz SL Roadster, the R230 model, or the facelift to be more precise.
This is just a sketch of the real thing, a project car that will shown at the upcoming 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon, a famous Japanese tuning event. To be honest, the only recognizable parts are the lights and the mirrors.

The widebody kit comes with everything from new bumpers to some crazy rockers and even add-ons for the doors. We don’t even know how you get inside, but have a sneaking suspicion you get teleported into it. The SL also gets a boot lid spoiler and 20-inch alloy wheel wrapped in Falken tires sized 255/30R20 for the front and 305/25R20 on the back.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
