Publicized during the Super Bowl, praised by Consumer Reports and widely approved for its fresh design, Hyundai's Santa Fe SUV finally reached a sales number it can be proud of.
The SUV was launched in the US back in 2000. Since then, Hyundai has managed to sell 1 million units as of today. The new trophy in the Koreans' case comes right after the launch of a new generation. It is available in two wheelbases, the Sport model which is a 5-seater and the normal one with seven seats.
“When the 2001 Santa Fe launched in the United States 13 years ago, not only was it Hyundai’s first SUV, but it was one of the first compact crossovers on the market – just behind Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV,” said John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. “It was a bold move that paid off and helped position Hyundai as a brand that could innovate in design and package, not just value and warranty.”
